The Pilot Training School of Ethiopian Airlines has graduated 9 trainee pilots who have completed the commercial pilots’ course with Instrument and Multi Crew Ratings on October 27, 2011.
The graduates have taken the two years pilot training Courses that includes 695:00 hours of classroom instruction and 200:00 hours of practical flight training on single and Multi – engine aircraft. Safety standards and ICAO level 4 English proficiency requirements were also part of their training.
Mr. Kasim Geresu, the Chief Finance Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, handed over diplomas and flight wings to the graduates and achievement awards to top performing ones at a graduation ceremony held at the airline’s headquarters.
The Ethiopian Aviation Academy offers qualified training for Pilots, Aviation, Technicians, Cabin Crew, Marketing and Sales personnel for itself and other carriers mainly from Africa and the Middle East.
The pilot training school of Ethiopian Airlines has so far graduated 955 pilots since its inception in 1964. Among the total graduates 630 are Ethiopian and 325 are foreign nationals. The school has currently bought two DA42 twine engine training aircrafts in addition to the ten DA40NGs bought from Australian Diamond Aircraft Company to enhance its services.
The Ethiopian Aviation Academy currently offers training packages for qualified and private individuals who wish to study in the various fileds offered by the academy.
