FIFA President Gianni Infantino has vowed to work closely with the Ethiopian Football Federation towards the development of football in the country.
Infantino was in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Thursday, 26 March 2016 on a brief visit, holding discussions with the leadership of the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF), Ethiopian Youth and Sport Minister Redwan Hussien and Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom.
He also visited the headquarters of the governing body of EFF, Ethiopian Youth Academy and the FIFA Goal Project during his stay in the capital.
“It was fruitful. We have held talks on the League structure, grassroots development and other issues. We have asked the President to work with us on capacity building,” EFF president Juneydi Basha remarked.
Infantino left for Djibouti moments later for a similar assignment.
